Trip Overview
The Everest Base Camp trek starts with an exciting 35 minutes flight to Lukla's mountain airstrip. From here you will follow in the footsteps of famous mountaineers of numerous Everest expeditions. This part of Nepal is by and large a Buddhist population, where you will encounter Buddhist Monks, colorful prayer flags, mani walls, and monasteries along the trails. From Lukla, the trails pass through the Sherpa villages, forests of Rhododendron, Pine and a number of high suspension bridge crossings. The trek includes many tea house visits. In addition, you will experience astounding mountain views, follow the path of the world famous mountain climbers (the Sherpas), and experience the Sagarmatha National Park, which is listed on the world heritage site. Trekking to the Everest Base Camp of Nepal also provides you a chance to embark on an epic journey that Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay completed in 1953. Our Napalese guide will guide you to the base camp of the world’s tallest mountain and to the summit Kala Patthar for the panoramic views of Everest and the other Himalayas.
